The First Lady Jeannette Kagame has called for aggressive measures to end Child Sexual Abuse. She made the call during the occasion to mark the Day of the Girl and the launch event of the 'Ending Child Sexual Abuse' campaign, held this Monday.
According to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), over the last 3 years, they have received 10.456 cases of child Sexual Abuse. 98% of the victims are girls.
RIB has also revealed that the cases of Child Sexual Abuse have increased during COVID-19 crisis. In 3 months, from March to June, 864 cases of child sexual abuse were reported while 1310 cases of child sexual abuse were recorded between June and August.
In a video address, the First Lady Jeannette Kagame called for aggressive measures to end Child Sexual Abuse.
