RWANDA: Churches step-up vigilance against Corona Virus

Measures are being taken in Churches and other places of Religious gathering to help mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus as a preventive measure, though not a single case has been reported here in Rwanda.

Following an announcement issued by the Catholic Church on measures meant to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus in the case infections were to be reported in the country, other Churches have also been adopting measures and messages of warning issued to the faithful that they must do what they can to learn how to protect themselves and others from the threat in anticipation that if it were to be reported to be within Rwanda's borders, it would fought against effectively.

Health Experts at the Rwanda Biomedical Center say along as people observe safety measures in place and avoid physical contact while in Church and not cough or sneeze without covering their mouths and noses, there should be no problems related to the rapid spreading of the virus if any cases are found in Rwanda.

Big gatherings like concerts have since been canceled in Kigali City in light of the threat, following an announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister concerning preventive measures against the Coronavirus.
